Maintaining Weight after Mesotherapy Treatments

Q: Dear Elena: I recently went through a series of your mesotherapy treatments for my stomach and thigh area. I have noticed a big difference!

How can I now maintain this fat loss and not gain it back? Thanks.

A: Mesotherapy employ the technique of multiple injections of commonly used homeopathic medications, plant extracts, vitamins, and other ingredients into the subcutaneous fat. Mesotherapy injections are purported to target adipose fat cells, apparently by inducing rupture and cell death among adipocytes, thus minimizing lines, wrinkles and cellulite.

Like any other treatments, mesoptherapy results can be permanent if you take care of your results. That means maintaining a healthy life style including good diet full of low fat, high fiber foods such as lots of fruits and vegetables daily. Exercise is also important. Maintaining your ideal weight will help you also maintain the results. It is like having fat reduction surgery, if you gain weight chances are you will see fat build up in all familiar places. I often advise my patients to stay on a regiment of homepathics designed for lymphatic drainage. Having a good amount of anti-oxidants in your diet or supplementing them with pills will help to maintain the strong connective tissue and prevent cellulite appearance, wrinkles and fat deposits. Keeping your connective tissues clean and healthy will help keep your mesotherapy results longer. You can also do maintenance treatments on as needed bases. Usually 5-6 treatments every 6-8 months will help you keep your results on more permanent bases.
